... and we are in the hospital. Our weekly appointments for chemo are on Wednesdays, and since we were there on Tuesday, something must have been up. Last night Joshua started running fever and we were admitted to the hospital. We will likely be here for at least a week. Joshua doesn't seem to have anything left; it's almost like a system crash, and tomorrow he gets another double dose of chemotherapy which means there just isn't any time for him to recover.
Up to this point we have been so fortunate about the progress of treatment and lack of side effects; the last 2 days have been a different story. He frankly feels as badly as he has felt; every part of his body seems to hurt. He is alternating between constipation and diaherria and is generally uncomfortable; he only was able to sleep for about 3 hours last night.
These are tough days for Joshua, though not unexpected ones. These are the sort of things that happen during this phase of treatment.

We were in Jackson TN for the past 24 hours - thought of you guys often. I guess something about breathing Tennessee air.
Expected symptoms - great phrase. Still hard to watch someone you love suffer, expected or not. Truly the most helpless feeling I've ever experienced. I trust that the Comforter is being Himself to you and Jana.
So we'll take these expected symptoms as proof that this process is moving right along. And continue to pray that Joshua will be healed and on with 2 year old-ness very soon.
sorry - my computer wigged out before i could finish. the first post is from me. - Becca
God, reveal yourself to the Kelleys today in ways you never have before. Be real. Be present. Help Joshua be able to communicate with the doctors, and help him, in his little way, to be able to grasp what is happening to him, but how you are in control. Please wrap them up in your love.
We are praying for you sweet Joshua--and Mommy and Daddy too. We pray that God gives you ALL much needed rest and that these "expected symptoms" disapear quickly. Sweet heavenly Father send the Kelley's a since of peace and healing for Joshua.

Jana and Michael - Please know that we will be praying for all of you. For strength, peace, and joy for the two of you - for healing, supernatural strength, and comfort for Joshua. Please let us know if there is anything we can do for you. We love you and think you are such an incredible couple and such an incredible family.
We're big Kelley fans! :)

Praying for all of you!
I am so sorry that Joshua is so sick and I know you are hurting for him and if you could take his pain you would. I continue to pray for all of you. Our Lord is there in the midst of your suffering and he weeps with you.
Love and Prayers,
Always, Joan
Do not be discouraged.
God is good.
May your suffering, Kelley Family, be just for a little while...
I Peter 5:10 "And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace [Who imparts all blessing and favor], Who has called you to His [own] eternal glory in Christ Jesus, will Himself complete and make you what you ought to be, establish and ground you securely, and strengthen, and settle you."
Hey friends...
I'm on my way to San Antonio to join Emily at her Y conference and just heard the update on Joshua. Just wanted you to know we are praying for you and for Joshua and for His presence to be real and comforting in these days. We love you and can't wait to be back in Nashville to surround you with love.

our prayers are still with you Joshua! Fight on and be brave. Jesus is right there with you!
Eric opened one of our lifeway Sunday School box this morning, and was taken aback when there a big picture of Michael staring back at him! How neat! A few weeks ago we put a picture of Joshua up on the board in our house that our 5 year old daughter uses to help her remember things she needs to pray for. She would really like to send Joshua a letter, so I was wondering if we could get your address to do that. We love you guys and are pleading for your family.
