Move '08

This weekend we are moving; this branch of the Kelley family is heading north to our new neighborhood. We've been planning to do so for a while, and the truck gets packed on Saturday. Love the new house and the fact that we're moving; hate moving itself. So I'm focusing on the positive stuff about the move to get me through the process of moving. Here, then, is the list of the top 5 things about the move.

1. We are moving to a neighborhood with mature trees. This will be awesome. Lots of shade to guard our albino-like son. If you haven't noticed, Andi is the only tan one in our family. Not sure where that came from.

2. The backyard. It's large flat, and completely shaded. It's already got a tire swing and enough room for more furniture, fire pit, hammock, and that car Michael's been wanting to restore (just kidding about the last one).

3. The commute. Trips to the clinic will be cut by 2/3. The gas implications for those trips, as well as Michael's commute, are really good.

4. The new house adds a playroom to our children arsenal.

5. The scooter. This is still in doubt, but my husband, the professional editor, the published author, the preacher, the guy who occasionally wears jeans with holes in them, now has a route that allows him to get to work without getting on the interstate. He is considering buying a used Vespa. Pictures to follow if this actually happens.

I am not going to lie: Michael, if you get a Vespa, I will be beyond jealous. LOVE the new house. LOVE it.

I noticed something strange and green the pictures. Are those trees and grass? I forgot what that looked like...

(but I don't miss the bugs :))

happy moving! The new house looks great. I had no idea. But I do have an idea of who Michael can talk to if he does decide to invest in a vespa. Ben. Ben just sold his scooter this time last year. I'm not sure if you were serious or not about it, but either way, if Michael needs any factoids on scooters, Ben's your man.
Enjoy your move...that is, if you can enjoy anything in this dreadful heat! Yikes.

I can't wait to show you how "freakishly strong" I am! Plus think about it...you get a bunch of your friends all in one place...even if you are making us do manual labor...:)

How exciting! Where are you guys moving to? Our house is also currently on the market and we are scoping out new neighborhoods. Let me know!

I have been blog stalking you guys for a while, I actually left a comment a while back when I found you...must have been overlooked. Joshua and Riley actually have a lot in common...their birthdays are 2 days apart and Riley was diagnosed almost exactly a year after Joshua. And when I read your older blogs I find myself nodding my head in agreement, because it's exactly what we are going through. We don't live in the Houston area, but I have also been blog stalking the Ryan's...I will have to leave them a comment and come out of the blog closet. Good luck with your move, and your children are adorable!!

Love the new house. We really like living in an older home with real trees, even though it means we have to do a little updating. It has been worth it. I hope your kids enjoy it. Praying for Joshua over the next little while.

Where is your house, btw?

I love your new house! And definitely get a scooter! Everyone over here on the east side is doing it! (Although I heard recently a friend is thinking of getting a horse to thwart the trend. wierd.)
